Planning that AWESOME December Wedding

There is no greater time of the year to bring many wonderful things together as exists during the month of December. We have the major holidays of Chanukah, Christmas, New Years (yes, it is in January but we all do consider the clustering of the holidays as coming at the same time) and other holidays as well. December weddings are especially wonderful to experience as a guest or as the couple seeking wedded bliss, too.

If you have set the date for the wedding, much of your thinking will center around whether the EVENT is to be thematic, or in other words, planned to take advantage of a particular holiday of interest that is about to occur (or just recently happened) or blending holidays to embrace many so that more of your guests will enjoy. This is a question which only you can answer as you know the relative diversity of your audience of family and friends. One can stand on principle and have a wedding theme of one particular religious holiday that you practice (after all, it is your wedding) or you may want to consider the feelings of guests as well. The true first priority must be however what the two of you prefer.

Religious holidays of Christmas and Chanuka, for example, can be celebrated and enjoyed by all when they are not so IN YOUR FACE. Most guests will love attending and simply view their role as a guest whereas very formalized services can lead some to feeling like they are being lectured to for adopting a new way of thinking. Finding a middle of the road (not too extreme) type of service with your clergy person is the key in this regard.

Other holidays or significant reasons for holding a December wedding like News Years, a family member's wedding anniversary or a mate's birthday can lend to creating a wonderful theme or introduction to the services also. One distinction that should be considered is when you want certain tributes to take place. You may opt to include certain blessings, comments, rituals or other plans for during the wedding ceremony and others for the reception afterwards.

This time of the year has a virtual limitless array of color choices to work with: champagne, burgendy, red & green, blue & silver or other deep tones. This can be further accented by floral arrangements of evergreens, holy, tinsel and artifical snow. One can create a spectacular winter wonderland in a big ball room, living room or backyard. Yes, outside weddings can be terrific too with a little planning (like maybe portable heaters spaced to warm the area or a professional grade outdoor tenting structure). If you are looking for that winter look; but, lack the snow, have it shipped to you complete with ice scuptures. You may want to serve up some Hot Cocoa or warm up the tummies of guests with Spiced Apple Cider (this is wonderful both indoors and out).

December weddings can be so awesome to attend because they can offer so much to your senses. Have you thought about having cinnamon sticks in a vase on individual tables to tantalize the nose? You have an almost unlimited array of choices from super religious services centered on a specific holiday, to that tempered to embrace many holidays, to making it a kick-off to the new year, as a tribute to a loving parent's anniversary, your spouse's birthday, embracing the kid in you who loves holiday decorations or just a genuine love for winter. As you start developing your plans for this special day in your lives, ask yourself, "How can we really put this over the top and make it a December that everyone will remember?" This is a festive time of the year. Your wedding ceremony and celebration will be great. Have Fun and Best Wishes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
