What Is It That Is Said About The Early Bird Who Gets The......
This September marks a time when many couples became engaged over the summer AND since Labor Day is over, the reality that you have to plan for a wedding coming up either this year or next is on your mind. So you have begun getting some magazines, checking out a local vendor show to get ideas about photographers, limos, places to hold the ceremony and reception, etc. If you are like many brides, you have a pile of information and are not sure where to start. Maybe you have your budget in mind and therefore know how much to spend for the different aspects of the wedding and any honeymoon afterwards. You still have that pile though and deciding what to do first may be a tough thing to think about. After making the phone calls and getting information, it is no wonder that vendors may seem all alike as you sift through brochures, emails, etc.
The two most important tasks to deal with right now if they have not been handled is finding that location for the wedding and deciding on who will be performing the service. After all, without these two things being set up, the rest may not be to your liking or you may discover that a vendor does not go to where you are planning on holding the wedding. In terms of the minister, priest or other officiant, arranging this person to be there should be prioritized as well (unless you want to have dreams of walking down the isle and not having someone there to perform the service). It all boils down to a simple fact of life. Unless you are deciding to hold a wedding on a week day or odd hour (early or late in the day), many opt for a Friday or Saturday wedding to allow their family, loved ones and guests as much opportunity to attend the wedding. There are only so many weekends in a year and a clergy person or destination can only accommodate so many functions during that day or time period. Getting the place you truly desire, on your date, during your preferred hours and having the best clergy person or other to present the service is often a matter of deciding and taking action quickly to ensure you get your pick instead of settling for second best.
We all have budgets - for practically everything in life. The prospects of getting married made you both consider how much to allocate for this time in your lives considering any monies that may be bestowed by family and how much may be able to be saved up. This is a unique time of the year - did you know this????? "But why" you are asking? The simple fact is that as we progress through to the end of the year, companies look at past performance with an eye to the future, they look at expansion plans AND the good ‘ole economy in terms of how much everything costs. Just as you are looking at prices, vendors too will be looking at whether or not prices should change for next year. So why on earth is that good for you to know that prices may be going up next year by certain vendors whom you may want to work with or hire for your wedding? While no one can predict when prices may go up, or by how much for that matter, those listening to the radio, exploring news topics on the Internet or reading the newspaper can generally get the feel of the market conditions. Even the person who is not a savvy investor knows that most things go up in price (rarely do they go down). This being the case, the earlier you decide on a particular vendor, you owe it to yourself to act in the interests of saving potential money. Yes, think about this. If you select your vendor now at today's prices, won't you feel a lot better if you discover later that prices went up and you locked in their services at this year's price? Probably so AND you'll sleep a whole lot better knowing that you got the location, time, clergy person, photographer, etc. that you wanted above all the rest reviewed. Oh yeh, "The early bird gets the worm" is the saying {In your case, better wedding memories at perhaps a cost savings that can be used for other things}.
